our approach
WDSS has significant experience in design and delivery of instrumentation and forecast systems to operational forecasters responsible for international airport locations. WDSS partners with instrumentation companies to deliver systems that enhance aerodrome aviation safety. WDSS works with the local aviation agencies to understand their specific issues and tailors specific solutions to help identify and mitigate these issues.
The WDSS airport systems include instrumentation, hardware, software, and display systems in a turnkey fashion that provide detection, nowcasting, and automated alerts of weather hazardous to aviation operations. Instrumentation includes wind profilers, radiometers, sodars, and lidars integrated with local instrumentation to determine the presence of wind shear and low-level jets, provide fog and inversion detection and trending, along with various sounding indices and their trends.
Data and products are provided to meteorologists and ATC personnel through customized display systems.
